Live from Cloud City Seattle, this Just IN This new Microsoft Reactor series is for developers, entrepreneurs and passionate technologists that want to build tech that’s game-changing, useful or just plain interesting

this Just IN: Makers have been culturally movin’ for some time. Yet there’s never been a better moment to tinker, experiment, and try building something new. Indeed many of us perhaps are spending more time in our homes, with smaller groups of people, or connected digitally which makes making all the more alluring. Indeed anyone with the passion to create can indeed be a Maker. And technology continues to remove barriers and building bridges as we connect and share our ideas with each other.

Are you a technologist looking for a hobby project? Or a business leader looking to better understand the feature of the Maker Movement? Or a teacher, volunteer, parent or guardian seeking the tools & resources for building hand-on? Come join Microsoft Cloud Advocate Justin Garrett and Principal Program Manager at The Garage @ Microsoft, Stacey Mulcahy, as we share what we’ve learned, what’s new and invite you into a conversation about the Maker community.

Who is it aimed at?

  • Technology hobbyists
  • STEM education professionals and volunteers
  • Parents or guardians of students
  • Business leaders & decision-makers
Students or learning professionals interested in getting a pulse on the Maker Movement

Why should I attend?

  • Learn from people at Microsoft that are contributing to and supporting Makers
  • Share your thoughts on the Maker community and your latest ideas
  • Network with other professionals interested in making

Stacey Mulcahy is the Principal Program Manager of The Garage in Puget Sound at Microsoft, one of 13 Garage spaces and locations around the world. She focuses on community management and overseeing a variety of lab spaces enabling employee exploration. As a PM, she creates opportunities for employees to come together to connect, make, and hack on their ideas, or get inspired by other creators through talks, workshops, and hackathons. Stacey can often be found leading workshops around design thinking, IoT, fabrication, data visualization, web or game development. Having spent 15 years in the interactive agency space prior to Microsoft, the intersection of Art and Tech is what Stacey is most passionate about – and shares this with internal employees via a monthly newsletter called Art with Robots.
