Session Descriptions

Session 1:
Exploring Opportunities Brought by the Era of AI and the Industrial Metaverse by Ross Verrall

Right now AI and the metaverse are transforming the world's largest industries and profoundly impacting society. NVIDIA is on forefront delivering AI breakthroughs in a variety of applications. From autonomous cars and robotics to healthcare, climate science and new energy exploration, researchers and developers across disciplines and industries are applying these technologies to solve the next grand challenge. Today we’ll have a look at some of the recent advances in AI and go through how you can get started and be part of this transformation impacting every corner of the world.

Session 2:
Azure GPU computing and visualization by Daniele Rispoli

In this session you will learn the types of GPU machines on Azure and the workload orchestration options you need to scale.

Session 3:
Turning the Tide on Biodiversity Loss Using Applied Artificial Intelligence by Carl Chalmers, Paul Fergus – Conservation AI

We’ll hear from startup Conservation AI, member of NVIDIA Inception program:
Artificial Intelligence is proving to be a vital tool in the fight against biodiversity loss which is caused by poaching, climate change and the overexploitation of natural resources. Conservationists routinely use a broad range of technologies such as camera traps, drones and acoustic devices to monitor and understand natural environments and intervene when biodiversity is threatened. This has resulted in conservationists experiencing their version of big data and its associated challenges. They have reached a crisis point where it has become impossible to manually process the acquired data in a timely manner and uncover important insights which are crucial for effective biodiversity management. Conservation AI harnesses the Nvidia software stack (Cuda, Cudnn, Triton Server), and Nvidia hardware (RTX 8000, A100, T4 and AGX Xavier), to develop deep learning solutions which is helping us to support a global network of conservationist to process data in real-time and uncover important biodiversity insights. We will showcase some of the results generated to date with our partners which include Knowsley Safari, Chester Zoo and the Animal and Plant Health Agency (DEFRA) in the UK, the Endangered Wildlife Trust and Welgevonden Game Reserve in South Africa, and the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust in Madagascar.
