Enhance app engagement with the Microsoft Teams Activity Feed API

Microsoft Teams team

This past December we announced the public preview of the Microsoft Teams Activity API, and along with it, our excitement on how developers can build and surface engaging, actionable content from their own apps as notifications within the Microsoft Teams ‘Feed’ panel. Today, we’re pleased to announce that the Microsoft Graph API for sending notifications in Teams’ Activity Feed is now generally available and accessible through the production v1.0 endpoint.

Some of the salient features of this API that you can now utilize include:

  • Notification sent on mobile device are sent as push notification, giving developers huge opportunity to drive engagement.
  • Developers can update existing notification using in case state of target resource has changed.
  • Developers can target notification to any valid teams’ deeplink (personal app, tabs, chat or channel message).
  • End users can control what types of notification they want to see and in what form (banner/feed/None). This is exposed in notification setting in teams’ client.

For more information on Activity Feed and how to use the API, check out the documentation.

We look forward to your feedback on this API. Please connect with us on Microsoft Q&A to provide feedback on the current API and how we can improve going forward!

Happy coding!
