We’re excited to announce that the Microsoft identity platform is OpenID Certified! As long-time members of the OpenID Foundation, this is an important step for us – joining the community of certified, interoperable libraries and services.
OpenID Connect is awesome because it makes it easy for developers to build and migrate apps using simple, widely-deployed identity standards. Both endpoints of the Microsoft Identity platform have been certified for OpenID: the Microsoft identity platform endpoint (v2.0), which supports both personal and organizational identities, and the Azure AD v1.0 endpoint.
If you’re looking to learn more, Microsoft’s OpenID Connect protocol documentation lives on docs.microsoft.com. We (and the community) are always improving those pages, so file an issue if you see something that could be explained better. If you have any questions, we also monitor our tags on Stack Overflow and have a User Voice for any improvements you might suggest.
