New web platform features

  • Beacon interface: Enables web applications to asynchronously transfer data from the user agent to a web server, with the user agent taking the responsibility to eventually send the data.
  • Accessibility improvements: This release contains architectural improvements that allowed us to enable HTML and Core Accessibility API mappings and support Accessible Name and Description computation and API mappings for semantic HTML5 elements and ARIA document structure and landmark roles. To learn more, see our recent blog post, Building a more accessible web platform. We have more accessibility features built on the new architecture coming soon!
