    • Could you please share your build version (winver.exe) and I don’t see any update on 12/05/2016, please also send us your update history screenshot, This will help us investigate the issue. It would also help if you try to repro this issue on a different PC to see if the issue reproducible.

    • It is getting worst.

    • I keep having trouble with getting on the internet Freezes up.

    • Thank you for the update. Could you please provide your
      update history screenshot?

    • Honestly I don’t see how you could have any trouble reproducing this. It happens every single time I try to use edge. Even just typing an address in the bar when first opening the browser causes it to hang for a while. It’s totally unusable. I’m on Build 14986, but it’s basically been this way since the launch of Windows 10. Truly baffling that you can’t reproduce. I’m on a top of the line Surface Book.

    • Sorry for the delayed response. I still couldn’t reproduce the issue which is likely repro on your environment only. Please also bear in mind, Insider preview version are not stable versions which may show some irregularity or introduce temporary bugs. I will keep this bug active and wait for the next release of insider preview, if you see still repro we will investigate the issue further. I would also suggest that test the issue on a different computer or VM to see if it is environment related.

    • I also have this frustrating situation. It is random - happens is launching a site - searching - or simply scrolling reading an article. This is on a Dell Tower running level 1607… I had the situation with IE 11 - I uninstalled & reinstalled IE it is functioning ok…

    • two different computers, same problem. Chrome works fine

    • I have the same issue. Pages slow to load. Scrolling gets erratic. Maybe calms down. If not then up comes recover web page msg. Speed test Xfinity Blast easily 75mbs. No malware. Ad block on or off no effect. Was happening before I ever had any extensions. I have uninstalled and reinstalled. Have two desktops peer to peer no domain. Running MSFT accounts. Beats me. Reset, refresh, reinstall opsys. Build 14393.693 Terabyte HD, 6 gigs mem. Ran DISM, sfc /scannow no corruption and brand new user acct = no help. All I can think of is there is a DNS issue or I need to replace protocol stack. Would having too many favorites bog the app down? Ie11 does this also but not as much.

    • Hello, Whoever you are this week :)

I am having the same issues with Edge needing to restore pages a lot, no certain pages, just at random. On Microsoft.com for example, some pages have had to be restored more than once while negotiating it tonight. Also, on Microsoft.com I haven’t been able to get to the Support page at all. For this week at least, it has come up blank. So, there is no way to report to Support about Support. >.> Other pages and sites come up blank, too, or load for bit then pop up with a " Sorry we could not reach…". However, I have a strong connection at that time and so do the girls. I am glad I stumbled here to report issues. I have been looking up on internet for information on how to fix this, and unfortunately It seems like many people have these issues who haven’t reported it here. I don’t want to muck around with PowerShell like some have to fix it. I know just enough about computers to make things worse :) My grand daughters on two other computers don’t use Edge, and have no issues with Chrome or Firefox. I don’t either on those browsers, but I like some of the features of Edge, so I would like to see it improve and have everything others say they need fixed or added, also. I use a Dell laptop running Win 10, and on the other two computers. I have trouble using Edge on those also. I have MORE issues popping up on Edge now, but this is the first one that started. I hope you will listen to us. Like I said, there are many more with Edge who are a bit more colorful in making their complaints, ( Just Google or Bing: "problems with Edge browser", or, "How to fix Microsoft 10 Edge", ect. ) Would you like to know WHY I was searching the Web instead of Microsoft.com? The Support page is blank, <.<

    • Have same issue with receiving “…site not responding, click to recover web page” using Edge. Happens on all 3 of my Windows 10 machines. Never an issue with Firefox.

    • We appreciate the feedback.  It helps make Edge better.

Fixes have been made to improve the stability and speed of the browser based on feedback from submissions like the ones in this thread.  Please continue using Edge and sending your comments.  The more detail, the better.  For example, specific URLs where you experienced an issue or slowdown, the version of Windows 10 used, or detailed repros.

The MS Edge Team and specifically Steven K. this week for this submission :->

    • Almost two months now and still do not see any fixes for Edge freezing and asking to recover web page. No real point in reproducing as it happens everyday many times and no particular site causes the action. I have a strong guess that is ad related, especially ads that have videos that like to start auto. One place it is prone to happen is on MSN news that you pick up when going to a new tab and for God sake stay away from the sponsored ads at the bottom of the page with intriguing subjects and when you click the ad turns into a click to continue, click to continue, click to continue, click to continue and the last thing is slightly related to the come on that got you there if you make it without going non responsive. Like I say, uninstall, reinstall are no help. I really like edge, but it is on its way to becoming unusable. How can I wipe the app and all registry records without having to reinstall the operating system? Got a script? Best guess is ads, videos or maybe more than 4 tabs open. Maybe it will get better with the new Creative update.

    • Hey Armstrong… Good news… in 5 days the Windows 10 Creator’s update will launch to non-insiders, and it does indeed come with a new version of Edge that is WAY faster and WAY more stable. It’s literally night and day.

If you don’t want to wait, you can actually start the update early by clicking “Update Now” here:

    • Bryan,

Thanks for sending the upgrade link and information.

Armstrong, have you updated to the Creator’s update?  Let me know your feedback related to this bug report.  Actually, this goes for anyone else on this thread.

      Thank you for the support.

      Changed Status to “Fixed”

    • Hello all,

I believe these issues should be resolved in the Creator’s update and will be changing the bug’s state to ‘fixed’ at this time.  If you can repro this again in a current release let us know and we will be more than happy to investigate again.

Appreciate the support, feedback, and the sharing of suggestions.

      Best regards,

      The MS Edge Team

    • These issues are not resolved in the Creator’s update. The bug is not tixed and none of the “fixes” that have been suggested work.
In fact, encountered this error twice in even trying to reach this website to make this comment. Edge is still as broken as ever. In fact, it is now hanging up on the homepage and not just when tabs are open.
This does not occur in Chrome, Firefox or Brave.
      Regards, JK.

    • I have a new laptop, HP Envy which I have had all the same issues as above. Freeze up’s on all sites. “recover web page” non stop. As its a new pc I cannot return to previous versions as I have none, it’s unbearable.

    • I am afraid I am going to use Chrome and Firefox instead of Edge. I’ll check in on Edge once in awhile to see if updates are available and will actually work. Hope it all goes well for your team. Perhaps if someone were to try to reproduce the problems on some other network away from your Dev center, away from where ever you work, maybe someone’s private computer without all the perks you may have working for Microsoft, perhaps you may be able to see what the problems are. I don’t know. Whatever Edge we are getting is not the same Edge you are working with. I’m sorry guys.

    • I too am getting the freezing “recover webpage” issue. I tried the reset and it doesn’t fix the issue. I also have the most recent Creator’s update. For some reason I think it has something to do with using a domain account (Samba domain server) as the Edge fault in the event log always corresponds with a logon/Special logon Audit Success messages in the Security log. The messages line up in time every time the “recover webpage” freeze occurs.

    • I have the same issue but only on Facebook Business page. I updated the last version. Anything else we can do to fix it. I may have to use Chrome if not resolved.

    • I have the same issue. Windows 10 Home, version 1703 OS Build 15063.608. Works fine in all other browsers probably been going on for 3 months. Have switched to other browsers since Edge is useless in current state

    • I have the same issue event after the Creators update, I’m using Microsoft Edge 40.15063.674.0, frequent “Recover Web Page” notices.

    • Dell XPS
      Version 1709 (OS Build 16299.98
Loaded latest updates and now Edge gets recover web page a LOT.
      Switched to Chrome until fixed

    • FB crashes in MS Edge about every 20 minutes - recovering webpage. Ridicules. Fricking amateur hour. It is really a very poor product. Completely unreliable.

    • MS Edge has beome unuseable since, I think, the Fall Edition upgrade, on my laptop.
Tried all fixes I can find, and turned off Flash.
It is still fine on my Win 10 Prof, desktop,
Would like to standardise on using Edge, but unrealistic.

    • I too am having to issue as well as
My whole computer freezing up ENTIRELY
to the point that I’ve had to hit the
      power button a couple times.

    • Same issue…the real problem is Microsoft, wanting you to use there spy ware IE or Edege. They want full control of you PC or laptop. Why not just the owner of the device have full control over what WE want to use and not Microsoft. DELETE IE. problem fixed.

    • All I can say is that Microsoft Edge and ALL of the updates REALLY, REALLY, REALLY SUCKS!!! After every update my computer freezes within an hour, maybe two hours, sometimes within minutes. Fortunately I found a fix that works to unfreeze but it doesn’t fix the freezing problem. I have reset my computer twice and that didn’t solve a darn thing.

    • Now it’s posting whenever it wants. I would like to go back to the Windows that was on this computer when I bought it but I don’t have the hardware to do that. Any suggestions

    • This problem, “recover webpage”, is happing on a new loading of Win 10 Pro

      Edge: 41.16299.15.0 Edge HTML: 16.16299 2017

    • Happens all the time, no specific pattern though, but quite often I have to say.

    • Hi 强 吕!

I can’t reproduce this issue on Microsoft Edge 44.17763.1.0 Microsoft EdgeHTML 18.17763. What version are you running? If it isn’t the most recent, try updating and see if it is still present.

How to find your version of Microsoft Edge: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4027011/microsoft-edge-find-out-which-version-you-have

    • Hi 强 吕!

For now, I will resolve this issue as "Not Reproducible". If you are still experiencing this problem then please feel free to reopen this issue with the information requested and I will resume my investigation.

Is there an answer in this, or do you have one to supply?
I have the same problem… can you give me a fix for this or not?
It has been too long to keep saying "Not Reproduceable".
If you don’t have a fix… wouldn’t it just be best for the User to use Google?

Hi… I am on Google and have no problems, as the one we are discussing here with Edge. So, it seems best for Users to use Google, at least while they wait and wait for a fix to the Edge problem. Don’t you think this is best for the User at this point?

    • Dennis R: When you say “use Google” do you actually mean “use Chrome” ?

    • Mea culpa! Thanks for correcting my senior moment. Please use "Chrome". I have always referred to it as Google Chrome; but missed the mark here.

So, it still seems best for Users to use CHROME, at least while they wait and wait for a fix to the Edge problem. Don’t you think this is best for the User at this point?

Years ago, I was a big supporter Windows; but have slowly; but steadily lost hope that Microsoft will ever invest the money needed to fix all the constant, long term, and ever new problems with Windows.

This is a Solution I proffer to fix this issue (if I don’t get censured)… A certain couple previously said it’s unfair they’re so rich. Instead of spending billions on themselves, they often donate it to charity through a Foundation. This is WONDERFUL! But, I feel that the millions of users of a certain software; have been significantly responsible for this wealth over time. I just think that if $1,000,000,000.00 could be added to the pot to fix all the software issues… it could make a big difference for users and the resources available to software techs. I can only imagine that to some people $1 Billion is only 1% of their worth.
