Steps to reproduce

edge web pages freezing over and over. continue to get “recover web page”

Not site specific, has happened on bing search, yahoo mail, amazon search…

Was working fine until today, maybe update sent out on 12/5?

    • Could you please share your build version (winver.exe) and I don’t see any update on 12/05/2016, please also send us your update history screenshot, This will help us investigate the issue. It would also help if you try to repro this issue on a different PC to see if the issue reproducible.

    • Honestly I don’t see how you could have any trouble reproducing this. It happens every single time I try to use edge. Even just typing an address in the bar when first opening the browser causes it to hang for a while. It’s totally unusable. I’m on Build 14986, but it’s basically been this way since the launch of Windows 10. Truly baffling that you can’t reproduce. I’m on a top of the line Surface Book.

    • Sorry for the delayed response. I still couldn’t reproduce the issue which is likely repro on your environment only. Please also bear in mind, Insider preview version are not stable versions which may show some irregularity or introduce temporary bugs. I will keep this bug active and wait for the next release of insider preview, if you see still repro we will investigate the issue further. I would also suggest that test the issue on a different computer or VM to see if it is environment related.

    • I also have this frustrating situation. It is random - happens is launching a site - searching - or simply scrolling reading an article. This is on a Dell Tower running level 1607… I had the situation with IE 11 - I uninstalled & reinstalled IE it is functioning ok…

    • two different computers, same problem. Chrome works fine

    • I have the same issue. Pages slow to load. Scrolling gets erratic. Maybe calms down. If not then up comes recover web page msg. Speed test Xfinity Blast easily 75mbs. No malware. Ad block on or off no effect. Was happening before I ever had any extensions. I have uninstalled and reinstalled. Have two desktops peer to peer no domain. Running MSFT accounts. Beats me. Reset, refresh, reinstall opsys. Build 14393.693 Terabyte HD, 6 gigs mem. Ran DISM, sfc /scannow no corruption and brand new user acct = no help. All I can think of is there is a DNS issue or I need to replace protocol stack. Would having too many favorites bog the app down? Ie11 does this also but not as much.

    • Hello, Whoever you are this week :)

      I am having the same issues with Edge needing to restore pages a lot, no certain pages, just at random. On Microsoft.com for example, some pages have had to be restored more than once while negotiating it tonight. Also, on Microsoft.com I haven’t been able to get to the Support page at all. For this week at least, it has come up blank. So, there is no way to report to Support about Support. >.> Other pages and sites come up blank, too, or load for bit then pop up with a " Sorry we could not reach…". However, I have a strong connection at that time and so do the girls. I am glad I stumbled here to report issues. I have been looking up on internet for information on how to fix this, and unfortunately It seems like many people have these issues who haven’t reported it here. I don’t want to muck around with PowerShell like some have to fix it. I know just enough about computers to make things worse :) My grand daughters on two other computers don’t use Edge, and have no issues with Chrome or Firefox. I don’t either on those browsers, but I like some of the features of Edge, so I would like to see it improve and have everything others say they need fixed or added, also. I use a Dell laptop running Win 10, and on the other two computers. I have trouble using Edge on those also. I have MORE issues popping up on Edge now, but this is the first one that started. I hope you will listen to us. Like I said, there are many more with Edge who are a bit more colorful in making their complaints, ( Just Google or Bing: "problems with Edge browser", or, "How to fix Microsoft 10 Edge", ect. ) Would you like to know WHY I was searching the Web instead of Microsoft.com? The Support page is blank, <.<

    • Have same issue with receiving “…site not responding, click to recover web page” using Edge. Happens on all 3 of my Windows 10 machines. Never an issue with Firefox.
