Steps to reproduce

I typed address of locally hosted site as “localhost/trades” and got 404 error.
I made mistake and try fix it with “localhost/Trades” but again got 404 error, because Edge thinks that both are equal and use first one. It is impossible to request “localhost/Trades” address, Edge always switches to "localhost/trades".

    • Thank you for taking your time to provide us your
feedback. This feedback falls under a feature or design change request. Please
login to our Feedback Hub app (Steps below) and feel free to file your
suggestion so others can review your suggestion and vote it up!

Use the Feedback Hub app to tell us which features you
love, which features you could do without, or when something could be better.

      1. Go to Start Windows Start icon, enter the phrase
Feedback Hub, then select Feedback Hub.
      1. See if someone else has given similar feedback by
entering the topic, such as Microsoft Calendar.
      1. If you find similar feedback, select it, add any
        details, then select Upvote.
      1. To narrow your search to a specific category, pick the
category that most closely matches your feedback (so it gets to the right
people quickly). For example, for feedback about the Calendar app, select Apps

      Calendar.

      1. If you don’t find any similar feedback, select Add new
feedback (In your case you select suggestion option), and choose a topic from
Select a category and then Select a subcategory.
      1. Enter your feedback (the more details the better!),
add a screenshot if you can, and you’re done.

      Best regards,

      The MS Edge Team

    • This design make impossible to reach case sensitive resource if there was the mistake in address typing before. Please consider design change to make it possible.

    • I, too, strongly disagree that this is a “feature” request because it kind of brakes the address bar/navigation.

Got a malformed link like https://docs.botframework.com/en-US/bot-intelligence/language/ which gives 404.
Correct link is all lowercase with "en-us"

In order to get to that side you have to select the “search for this text” option of the address bar and then select the first result.

    • *Edit: Edge even “betrays” the user by showing the url with the changed lower/upper case characters until you hover over the address bar. Then it changes back to the old spelling.

This could cause the user to think that the changed address is also not available.

    • This isn’t by-design at all and it needs to be reactivated. It’s a bug in the autocomplete dropdown matching logic where it isn’t properly validating the case of the string when an entry is committed.

You can workaround by either clearing your history or (in most cases) by appending a trailing ? on the URL.
