Steps to reproduce

Tabs should open and close instantly. There is a delay when opening tabs, switching through them or closing them.
This happens on every machine I have used. Run a comparison with Chrome - press ctrl+t 3 times in chrome, then in edge and see the difference.

    • It’s true that Edge is designed with battery life in mind (and thus is very conservative with CPU performance states), as well as the fact that the XAML UI has quite a bit of overhead - but input reaction times should be kept under 200ms for an optimal experience. There’s also the issue of inconsistent UI (black menus , grey menus and white menus in the same app - i.e. Edge), but that is another discussion.

    • Hello,

      p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {

      margin-bottom:8.0pt;
      margin-left:0in;
      line-height:107%;
      font-size:11.0pt;
      font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;
      }

      .MsoChpDefault {

      }

      .MsoPapDefault {

      line-height:107%;
      }

      div.WordSection1 {
      }

      We are unable to reproduce your results; however,
      optimizing Edge performance is one of our highest priorities, and we will
      constantly work to improve this independently from other browser performance.
      Thank you for providing this information.

      Best Wishes,
