Repro Steps:

Internet Explorer currently only renders text nodes, which is might be acceptable for simple equations but confusing or wrong in most cases. Try for example

https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/SVG/Attribute/transform#Types_of_transform_definition

Expected Results:

Internet Explorer does not support MathML and thus should implement fallback attributes. Try to open

<math alttext="\sqrt{x}"><msqrt><mi>x</mi></msqrt></math>

or

<math altimg="my-fallback-image.png" altimg-width="30px" altimg-height="50px" altimg-valign="-10px"><mrow>[MY COMPLEX EQUATION]</mrow></math>

Either the MathML should be rendered or the fallback text (first example) or image (second example) should be displayed.
