Steps to reproduce

Reduced IFrame repro:

  1. Save attached htm files
  2. Open outer.htm

Expected: vertical scrollbar should not appear
Actual: vertical scrollbar appears but is disabled. If you zoom in and out, it then becomes scrollable (to access the portion underneath the bottom scrollbar).

Original Repro Steps:

Browser: IE 11
Screen resolution: 1366 x 768
URL: http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tryit.asp?filename=tryhtml_frame_cols

Steps:

  1. Change the code to <frameset cols="9%,*,25%"> Or in other words, change the dimensions such that scrollbars would appear in a frame.
-> Horizontal and vertical scrollbars appears

Expected Results:

Only the horizontal scrollbar should appear.
Latest Google Chrome and also IE 8 does not display the vertical scrollbar unlike IE 11.

Actual Results:

    • Hello Edge team,

This is issue is a problem for us too. We have a client facing website and there are pages where we have used iframes. The user experience becomes very messy when the scroll bar appears on the frame as well as the browser. The height of the frame is set to be sufficiently large and there is no reason for the vertical scroll bar to appear. Looks like the Vertical scroll bar comes up automatically if there is a horizontal scroll on the frame (we cannot avoid the horizontal scroll)

At the moment we are suggesting our client to use Google Chrome and Firefox to get around this problem.
