Steps to reproduce

The problem occurs with a clipping block container (text-overflow: ellipsis) containing multiple inline elements, that are ellipted (whitespace: no-wrap).

The whitespace in-between these two child elements affect the way the block container renders its content. It seems as if the whitespace: nowrap style of the inline content had a relationship with the actual page DOM structure as well.

Problem was diagnosed with Edge 38 but can also be replicated with IE 11
