Steps to reproduce

If you add a new bookmark to the favorites bar you must give it a name. But if it has a favicon you don’t need a name. The little icon is all you need to recognize the bookmark. If you could put in a blank name, you can pack more bookmarks on to the favorites bar. I use this feature in Google Chrome and pack the bookmarks bar full. Bing, YouTube, Wikipedia, The Post Office, and Samstag Sales. They are all easy to recognize by looking at the favicon. But on IE11 you must have at least a 1 character name for the bookmark, and it is wasted space.

  • Hello,

Thank you for providing your feedback on IE11. We are not accepting feedback on Internet Explorer through this portal any longer (unless security related). However, we are pleased to report this feature is fixed in MS Edge, which allows one to enable the Favorites Bar and choose Show Icons Only to hide the names.

    Best Wishes,
    The MS Edge Team
