Steps to reproduce
Edge does not correctly recognize the keyboard layout. It seems to be stuck on the U.S. keyboard layout, even when I select the Japanese keyboard layout.
Note: this problem only exists within the app itself, such as when using Ctrl+F to find a work on a page. Typing "[" on my Japanese QWERTY keyboard layout produces "]", which is the key in the same position on the US QWERTY layout. If I open a website and type directly into a text field - such as this one - I get the correct characters.
The same error does not arise in Chrome or Firefox.

I have Microsoft Edge 40.15063.0.0 and this issues is not fixed.
