HLS repeats downloading a specific piece

Steps to reproduce

HLS on ANIPLUSTV (region-locked only for South Korea) repeatedly downloads a specific video file piece and fails to progress.

This does not occur when I download and play the problematic .m3u8 playlist and its video files, so I suspect this is a network- or timeout-related issue.

  • The transfer killed by Edge on 8s/9s/10s took 14.97s on Chrome to be finished.

    It would help 
    investigation if you could send 
    me a 
    Fiddler network trace 
    if possible.

    NOTE: Please do not visit any sites that contain personal or sensitive data such as passwords or financial data while collecting the trace. 

    Fiddler trace

    1. Download and install Fiddler on your machine. http://www.telerik.com/fiddler

    2. Run the Fiddler application and make sure “Capture Traffic” is selected under File menu.

    3. Reproduce the issue. (Launch Edge and go to the page that fails)

    4. Go to the fiddler and now you should see captured network traffic. Select all by using Ctrl+A or go to fiddler edit menu and choose select all.

    5. Delete any entries that may be private or you do not want to share.

    6. Finally go to, File/Save/Selected sessions/in Archive Zip and then save the file.

    7. Compress the file and add it here as another attachment.

  • I had to use OneDrive as uploading this massive 200+ MiB file caused Internal Server Error: Write on the issue tracker.


  • (The contained key is not a permanent one so you don’t have to worry :D)

  • I cut the original one to make it smaller but you can get larger 700+ MiB full log if you need.
