Steps to reproduce

It’s confusing functionality of Edge, which was spoiling my tests for few days in one of the environments.

In short: i prepared the test of the following site: https://demo.crmvision-online.pl:8443/crmvision_basicdemo/include/login.jsf. I had it on FireFox, Chrome, Edge and IE, but in order to have it function properly, it needed to have blocked popups.

So I blocked it in all browsers and had my test working perfectly.

And than I moved tests to another environment(Windows 10, version 1607, build 14393.693 - but the same as original). And tests for Edge kept failing coz popups kept popping up, despite settings. What’s up?

Finally i found the reason: the site was in IE defined within secure sites. And for site defined this way in IE, Edge was allowing the popups. And tests were failing. Cute.
