Steps to reproduce

On IE11 under Win10, the first gelocation request works,
nearly all subsequent requests fail

One Edge 14 under Win10, the same problem occurs with repeated (High Age:0) requests,
but it’s inconsistent in how often it fails

I have tried this on multiple desktops without wifi and a laptops with wifi

  1. open https://jsbin.com/laheciqili/edit?output
  2. press any of the high or low buttons, it returns a result
  3. repeat step two, it will fail each time

0 :: starting, params : {"enableHighAccuracy":false,"timeout":2000,"maximumAge":2000}
510 ::
3656 :: success{"accuracy":98,"altitude":0,"altitudeAccuracy":0,"heading":null,"latitude":-37.76484976822157,"longitude":144.9710933286362,"speed":null}

0 :: starting, params : {"enableHighAccuracy":false,"timeout":2000,"maximumAge":2000}
29 :: fail {"code":2,"message":"The current position could not be determined."}

1 :: starting, params : {"enableHighAccuracy":false,"timeout":2000,"maximumAge":2000}
6 :: fail {"code":2,"message":"The current position could not be determined."}

    • Hello,

      Thank you for providing your feedback on IE11. We are not accepting feedback on Internet Explorer through this portal any longer (unless security related). After thorough testing, we are unable to reproduce this problem in Edge. Please test this behavior in our latest stable version 14393 or the latest insider build 15063. (Ensure you go to Settings, Privacy, Location and set Location = On and scroll down to “Choose apps that can use your precise location” to set Microsoft Edge = On. Also be sure to click Yes when asked if null.jsbin.com may use your location.)

      Best Wishes,
      The MS Edge Team
