Steps to reproduce

We are doing Web development and follow Microsoft standards.
Recently we have been doing accessibility for Edge and checking using JAWS 18 version. Unfortunately it seems when tabbing it highlights the elements but doesn;t read the text.
Seems to work fine on IE versions though.
Could you let know with any pointers on the same?

Thanks for your time and help with this :)

    • may I know if there is any update on the above?

    • JAWS does not yet support Microsoft Edge as far as I know. They are working on adding support, but they would be your best bet to report any issue you find. JAWS still recommends its users to use IE.

      Changed Status to “Site Outreach”

    • It would be great if the team working on this site stopped reinterpreting the name of bug status we have internally :-) The official status name is External, because this issue is most likely not an issue in Edge but in a third-party. Often that is the website for which the bug is reported but in this case I meant JAWS, obviously.

    • thank you guys! :)

    • Hello,

Thank you for your assistance with this matter. We look forward to working with you on future Edge cases.

      Best Wishes,

    • Hi,

Recently we have been doing accessibility for Edge and checking using JAWS 18 version.

JAWS has at least two showstoppers. these are licence issues and it does not properly support widely accepted standards, moreover, Edge, as it has been written in one of comments, will be supported in next major version, if rumours are correct. For testing accessibility I recommend to use MS Narrator and NVDA screen reader. NVDA will also be useful in Firefox and Chrome.
