Steps to reproduce

As of a recent Windows update (I’m in the slow ring and currently on 15063.138) Edge renders a dashed rectangle around the main content div of my website ( when the page is initially loaded. If I hit tab, it becomes obvious that the rectangle is the focus, because it moves to the next link on the page. If I hit SHIFT + TAB it does not return to the content div, but skips over it to the next valid actionable element (something in my nav bar). This seems to me to be a bug since it’s very ugly when you first load the site and doesn’t seem like the focus is on a valid item. I can hit enter when the div has the focus and nothing happens.

    • Hello,

Thank you for providing this information about the issue. We are able to reproduce the problem but find your sample exhibits the same behavior in other browsers, such as Edge14393 and Chrome. Please check your web design for any script which may place focus on your main-content div, and update this case if you can provide new information for us to consider.

      Best Wishes,

    • Ah. I didn’t even notice the focus rectangle in Chrome because it’s very subtle. It’s quite ugly in Edge. Very prominent. Perhaps it isn’t new behavior in a later version of Edge, but perhaps it became more prominent? Not sure why I just noticed it. I’ll create a feature request tame its appearance a bit. Thanks.
