Steps to reproduce

I print to ricoh printers but I cannot print consistently from Edge. Sometimes the pdf prints and some times they don’t. I’ll update this ticket when I get a reply.

Also, Privacy is set to “Only visible to myself, Microsoft employees” not "Public (default)" now.

  • Hi George,

Can you give my details about this issue?  Also, have you tried to repro this issue on the lastest 14393 release?

    Thanks,

    Steve

  • I had problems with the Universal and PCL 6 drivers. They print pages inconsistently on Edge and default to color. I need Edge to default to monochrome and print pages consistently every time. The world around was to install the adobe pdf program and default print directly from the MUI program.

  • Hi George,

What is the specific printer model you are hitting the issue with?

    Thanks,

    Steve

  • I see your message. I’ll get the printer model and post it tonight when I get back to the office. Look for it in the morning. Thanks for the reply.

  • Hello,

Thank you for providing this information about the issue. We checked the print job success rate for the driver “Ricoh MP C4503 PCL 6” and it is stable. We are also able to print PDF’s consistently from the driver.

Secondly, we do not support the printing app to have its own printing preferences. The user can go to “Control Panel” -> “Devices and Printers” -> Specific printer -> Printing Preferences to set the default color mode for the printer.

    Best Wishes,
    The MS Edge Team
