Steps to reproduce

When using div with display:flex and overflow: auto children with absolute position within the div are not displayed.
When overflow is set to ‘scroll’ or ‘hidden’ elements are visible just fine. This happens only in edge, all other browsers even IE shows elements as expected.

Version: Microsoft Edge 40.15063.0.0, Microsoft EdgeHTML 15.15063

sample code:

<div id="main">
  <label id="e1">abcd</label>
  <label id="e2">abcde</label>
  <label id="e3">abcdefx</label>
</div>
#main{position:relative; height:38px;overflow:auto;background-color:yellow; width:1000px;display:flex}
#e3{position:absolute;top:0px;}
#e2{position:absolute;top:20px;}
#e1{position:absolute;top:40px;}
