Steps to reproduce

My tabs sometimes lost after I close and open Edge. It’s always mix with over bug - my pinned tabs show as simple wide tabs.

    • This happens to me too. I have Edge configured to save tabs on close and reopen them when I start Edge.

Issue is that somethings, after launching Edge the previous tabs are lost, it just opens empty.

I can’t reproduce this since it seems to happen randomly.

    • Only happened once so far, but I’ve only been using edge for a week. I pinned a bunch of tabs (20+) then had a couple of non-pinned tabs open.

I used the Windows 10 shutdown command (leaving Edge open, as then I’ve noticed it saves the non-pinned tabs as well).

Next time I started the computer and launched Edge, all the tabs came up and started "spinning", presumably loading the pages. I click the “+” tab icon to add a blank tab for another search, but this seemed unresponsive (presumably due to so many pinned tabs), so I tried to minimize Edge to do other stuff while it loaded.

Instead of minimizing, Edge seems to have crashed, as it was simply no longer running.

I opened Edge again, and all the pinned (and non-pinned) tabs were gone.

      Hope that helps.

    • Not sure if it’s the same for everyone but for me the tabs seem to be lost when I rearrange them before closing Edge. If I close Edge without moving the tabs around, it seems fine.

    • Thanks for the reports. We have found some issues that can cause you to lose your tabs after restarting Edge. We’ve made several fixes in this area which will be available this fall in the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update.

    • This is not fixed. I still have this issue, it’s unpredictable and the main reason why Edge isn’t my standard browser in Windows10. Google Chrome has the same issue. Only Firefox is stable in this regard.

    • Well I guess Microsoft has no interest anymore to solve the issue, since the lack of response to my comment

    • At least minimum every other day when I open the Edge, my previous tabs are gone along with pinned tabs. This is quite annoying and has been going on since day one.
      Why doesn’t this get addressed?

    • Rebooted my PC this a.m. which I do about 50% of the time since things just work better when I do. Just restarted Edge for first time today, and all my pinned tabs that have been there for months are GONE :-( Anguished.

    • The problem was fixed in the fall creators update but it have made a comeback in April 2018 Update.
