Steps to reproduce

Due to a problem with Edge, I was forced to delete the Edge app package and reinstall via powershell. After I did this, all favorites were lost on that machine. So I opened my tablet–and the EMPTY favorites list had sync’d over my favorites on the tablet as well.

This suggests pretty strongly that the sync flow is backward (I was expecting the favorites to sync back to the refreshed browser, not the reverse).

    • Yes, this exact same thing happened to me. I have been having problems with disappearing Favorites in Edge since the Creator’s Update. Upon refreshing Edge on my laptop just as described above, all the Edge Favorites on my other two Windows 10 devices disappeared.

Please fix this and the disappearing Edge Favorites issue, MS Edge Team. We need Edge to be a dependable browser that syncs Favorites correctly.

    • As a retired Chief Information Officer who has met with Bill Gates this constant loss of Edge Favorites and Favorites Bar is getting old. This has existed for over two years! I find it hard to believe that they can’t be recovered rather than having to reload from old IE files. This is totally Unacceptable and personally I plan to contact the executive offices and put an end to this lack of concern on the part of developers.
