Steps to reproduce

It happens often on Windows 10 Mobile after Creators Update (never on Anniversary Update). When you open a new url, the web page is displayed small like if it was 50% zoom and unresponsive. You can not zoom it, scroll it, nor open any link. Refreshing the page usually does not help. You have to close Edge browser from Task view and run it again.

I can experience the issue daily many times. There are similar reports in various forums and Feedback app. I hope I can get better response and resolution of the issue here.

      Would a recorded video help to confirm the issue ?

    • The issue might be related to particular display resolution. It is much more frequent on Lumia 650 (smallest fonts and 100% zoom in Settings) than Lumia 950.

    • There is another confirmation for in 15063.483 build for Lumia 640 XL.

      We know the issue is confirmed on Lumia 640 XL and 650 devices but not on 950 (yet). This indicates the issue might be related to display resolution/DPI which is first aspect you should consider when trying to reproduce the issue. To use known affected devices.

    • Also on Lumia 640. To reproduce it use following steps (portrait orientation):

      1. close all Egde tabs (to not reopen them next time Edge is started)
      2. close Edge from Task View
      3. start Edge again
      4. open any web site in new empty tab

      The web site loads but you can’t click on any link nor resize it. If not, repeat steps 2 to 4.

      I can reproduce it at least 100 times per a day on Lumia 650 and 640.

      As you can see, the web page loads but it is like 50% zoom. No links works and you can’t scroll/zoom the content until you reopen it in a new tab. Sometimes even this does not work and you have to close Edge from Task View and start again. It happens over and over.

      I opened http://www.idnes.cz web site but I can reproduce it with many others, including Bing search. The device is Lumia 650, OS version is 15063.483.

    • Can confirm video submited by Petr V., same thing happen on Facebook (mobile webpage) or google, Edge display them as desktop pages, and sometimes even by closing the app, won’t solution the problem. It’s needed to wait few seconds, and open the Edge app again, and load page.

      This bug happens on the desktop too, it has something to do with monitor DPI.

    • Sorry this is ridiculous. We can always reproduce it on almost any phone and some people even on PC. What exact device and OS version did you use to reproduce it ?

      This is currently the most annoying Edge bug we are facing as users daily over and over. I am aware of Microsoft Field Medic app and various ETW traces. Is there any particular trace I should enable and send report for?

    • I am also facing this issue but I do admit that although it appears often, it is not always. I get a sense that it happens after I play around with Edge, then switch to other apps and then switch back to the browser and type in a new address… Could it be that it only appears when the memory is low ? I have a Lumia 640.

      PS : I do see that the page is rendered zoomed out and I cannot interact with it, but not sure if at 50% zoom exactly.

    • The issues still persists in Build 15063.540.

    • Hey, I have the same problem and it also started after the W10M Creators Update. I’m on a Lumia 950, if I close all the tabs in Edge then close it from multitasking, when I reopen the app and I go to facebook for example this issue happens…

    • This happens on my Lumia 950XL and my sister in laws 950 as well.

    • The issue still persists in Build 15254.12. Is Microsoft ever going to fix that?

    • Is anyone able to reliably reproduce the issue ? I know it exists as I get it quite often but haven’t found the right steps to reproduce it 100% of the time.

    • Lucas, there are no 100% reproducible steps. It happens more often on slower devices like Lumia 640 or 650 than 950. Still it happens too often to diagnose and fix it.

      I also noticed new behavior in latest 15254.12 build. When it happens, you can try to open new empty tab and switch back to the unresponsive one that reloads and becomes responsive.
