Steps to reproduce

I’m not sure the best way to describe this, so I’m just going to take a video. After a few days of runtime, Edge stops rendering when I resize a window larger than it was opened - the new area is simply left transparent.

New windows all act the same way, closing and re-opening has no effect. Pop-up windows, if they are smaller than the original, are likewise constrained to the size that they open at. The only fix I’ve found is to reboot.

No other applications appear to be affected. Graphics card drivers are up to date. One unusual item is the system is multi-monitor with the primary a 4k screen set to scale to 150%, second monitor is a standard 1080 display at 100%.

No specific reproduction, as I noted, with normal usage it happens every 3-5 days, forcing me to reboot. The site is irrelevant. (The video demonstrates it here.)

  • Hello,

Thank you for providing this information about the issue. It sounds like Edge is running out of memory. After thorough testing, we are unable to reproduce this problem in Edge. Next time, please download the attached and extract it, then run the exe file. Select “Full Traces” and then "Start Tracing". Repeat the repro steps from beginning to end. Click “Stop Tracing” and then select the three resulting files and right-click, Send to, Compressed folder. Attach the compressed folder to this case for our review.
