Steps to reproduce
Create a test page with html5 video element, make the element different aspect ratio from the video source, e.g. use video file that is 640x360 and make the video tag 640 wide and height 600 instead of 360.
Check in Chrome and Edge - I’m getting white (transparent) in Chrome, black in Edge.
If I add inline style to background color, e.g. green, Chrome applies the green, Edge stays black.
Not saying one or the other is better or defined in standards or wherever, but assuming Edge is trying to ‘get along’ with other browsers, and at least developers should be allowed to adjust the background color for video tag, where adjusting the video tag aspect ratio to video ratio is not feasible.

Why is the status "Fixed", shouldn’t it be “Duplicate” like this one with the link to the duplicate issue? (https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/platform/issues/16231164/)
