Steps to reproduce
Any <input> found inside of a container which is draggable with HTML5 Drag and Drop requires a double click to be edited rather than a single click.
This occurs in both IE11 and Edge, and apparently has been an issue since IE10 according to historical discussion.
This existed as an issue previously but disappeared: https://connect.microsoft.com/IE/feedback/details/927470/ie-11-input-field-of-type-text-does-not-respond-to-mouse-clicks-when-ancestor-node-has-draggable-true#tabs
This does not occur on latest Chrome or Firefox.

Thank you for providing this information about the issue. We have confirmed the problem, and we are working on a solution for a future build of Edge. We are presently tracking this issue as a duplicate of an existing internal bug report. We look forward to additional feedback you may have on how we can improve Microsoft Edge.

Same problem here, and I solved like this(SO).
It seems like you have to force focusing to input/text-area on events.
