Steps to reproduce

In Edge for mobile I’ve seen that it’s not possible in a text box to write a lower-case letter right after an abbreviated word, such as “e.g.” Or “incl.” (like here in this form). As soon as you have typed-in the “.” The keyboard automatically switches to upper-case letters. Switching manually back to lower-case letters, you’re unable to enter such a letter. Nothing happens. It looks as if the “.” Is always treated as sentence point.

  • Hello,

Thank you for providing this information about the issue. We confirmed the problem and will investigate.

    1. As a workaround, we are able to make the words lower-case by putting the space in last; for example, “e.g.a video” and then move the cursor and type the space to get "e.g. a video".
    2. Another way is to type an extra letter at the beginning of the word and then erase it; for example, “i.e. Aguitar” and then move the cursor and backspace to get "i.e. guitar".

But that is all very inconvenient so we will consider a solution and update you with the decision.
