Steps to reproduce

Unable to paste into a edit control of a Flex application. This only happens in newer version of MS Edge. It used to work in MS Edge version 25.10586. However, it is not working in version 38.x or 40.15063. It works in IE 11.540 running on Windows 10.

I copy a text from notepad and then try to paste it into any a TextArea or TextInput in the Flex app. It displays a busy cursor and then a message to recover the browser session.

  • Have you verified that you have flash enabled in Edge?  I assume you have because you said it was working, but wanted to verify.

Also, are you using the flash based version of Apache Flex or the FlexJS option.  Again, just verifying.

    Appreciate the submission.

  • Also, can you provide a simplified repro for this?  That would save a bit of time.  Haven’t used Flex since it was managed by Apache.

    Thank you,

  • Thanks for the response. We are using Apache Flex. The Flash Player is enabled when I go to Settings->Advanced Settings->Use Adobe Flash Player in Edge. However, I am not able to verify the version of the Flash Player by going to https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html. My Flex application works in Edge which makes me think that Flash Player is enabled correctly. The only problem I have right now is the paste issue I mentioned. Attached is a sample application that allows you to reproduce the problem. To reproduce it:

    1. Open TestForEdge.swf file in MS Edge. The swf file resides under bin-debug directory.
    2. Copy a text from Notepad
    3. Paste it into the text input in the sample app.
Thanks so much for your help,
