Steps to reproduce

As described here (the link provided to the new issue is 404) and here the status bar is covering page elements in the left corner. Which makes links and buttons positioned there practically unusable.

Just take a look how Chrome handles those situations to know how to fix this. When the mouse comes within about 10 pixels to the status bar just move it to the right side of the screen, done.
