Steps to reproduce

Discord doesn’t support Edge, unsure if it’s a hard block they’ve put in their app or if Edge lacks any specific feature that discord relies on.

  • Usman,

It appears to be a decision by Discord.  I found this post in the Discord feedback site that shows a user being able to run in browser by changing the User Agent string.  Edge does support WebRTC.

Hope this helps and thank you for the support,

  • Hi there Steven,

Thanks for replying to this issue. However, the information on that page isn’t entirely accurate.

While spoofing the user agent dodges the site’s browser detection, attempting to connect to a server’s voice channel will fail, with Discord stalling at the “RTC Connecting” step. I’ve opened a few support tickets with them about this but they haven’t yet given me feedback on whether this is an issue with their system or with Microsoft Edge. If they tell me there’s a problem with Edge, I will report back here.
However, in the meantime, are you able to test this yourself to see if Edge is acting incorrectly? Here are some reproduction steps:

    1. Sign up for an account at https://discordapp.com/register
    2. Join a server with voice channels. For example, the Xbox one: https://discord.gg/xbox
    3. Go to about:flags, under Experiment Features, look for the WebRTC and ensure Hide my local IP address over WebRTC connections is unchecked
    • Discord will fail with No Route if this option is checked
    1. Open the F12 Developer Tools, go to Emulation, under Mode find User Agent String and change this to Google Chrome
    2. Click on a voice channel in the left sidebar to the right of your server list and marked with a speaker icon to attempt to connect. The failure will occur.

Also, I can link their support team this issue if you think that could help. I’d really like to finally be able to use their site with Edge!
