Steps to reproduce

Summary

  1. Local storage isn’t shared across zones. Microsoft Edge’s local storage is partitioned based on whether a site loads in the internet or intranet zone. This means the same site loaded in a different zone will have access to different storage data.
  1. Session Storage and InPrivate Local Storage is dropped when redirecting across zones. For example, if as a part of your redirection chain you redirect from the intranet to internet, Microsoft Edge will not retrieve the expected session storage data. This issue also exists for local storage in InPrivate mode.

Workaround

To workaround the above problems, please work with your IT administrator(s) to place all domains that exhibit these problems in the same security zone. As an example, if you have a.com (intranet) and b.com (internet), you would want to place b.com in the intranet zone.
This can be done via Internet Explorer group policies. Keep in mind that Microsoft Edge treats Trusted sites the same as the intranet.
