Steps to reproduce

Microsoft EdgeHTML 15.15063
Microsoft Edge 40.15063.0.0

When I call Notification.requestPermission(), the callback or Promise does not get triggered when the user makes a selection.

  1. A user visits our site
  2. Our site requests permission to allow Notifications
  3. User selects either Yes/No

EXPECTED

  • Our callback function or Promise should get triggered with the user’s answer

ACTUAL

  • The callback or Promise does not get triggered

This is the sample code below I’m trying. The callback nor Promise mode works. This was working previously in Edge 38

Notification.requestPermission((status) => {
  console.log('Notification Permission Status = ' + status);
});

Notification.requestPermission().then((status) => {
  console.log('Notification Permission Status = ' + status);
});
