Steps to reproduce
Top site function tabs within Edge in the Creators Update release today (17/10/2017) is not working, click on them and a new tab opens with no site displayed and Edge freezes. This was not an issue in the final Insiders reIease, IE works fine though.

I also experienced this issue after my PC was updated with KB4049179,KB4022405, KB4038806, KB4041676, KB890830 (and various dogfood updates from Azure, etc).
Although KB4022405 was installed the same day as the cumulative update KB4041676, it’s worth noting that it’s been replaced with a different KB. Deployed via SCCM.
Edge will occasionally work after a reboot, but usually doesnt nav to a website even after a restart. it does not show the typical news stories on the start tab, and only shows “start” and spinning dots. i am free to move the window, but closing the tabs or window does nothing. it’s worth noting that i cannot restart my PC successfully either. it spins at “restarting” overnight. it also cannot shut down, except for holding the power button down for several seconds.
This issue appears to have resolved after updates to the operating system (Version 1703 Build 15063.674). I’m currently on Microsoft Edge 40.15063.674.0.

@Jonathan, are you seeing the same as Hillary? I.e. recent updates have corrected this issue?
After a Windows auto-update Microsoft Edge 40.15063.674.0 continually freezes while loading the first home page. Re-booting has no effect and I am unable to Import Edge Bookmarks into another browser. I am also unable to cut & paste Bookmark URLs and have to copy by hand!
Is there a fix please?
In order to manage the various issues better, I would like to close this issue as “fixed” as the original issue was related to The Fall Creators Update from a couple months back. Please create a new ticket for any current Edge issues. This way each issue can have a unique ID and Title for better support and tracking of the issue.
