Steps to reproduce

I faced with unpleasant Edge browser behavior, when focus event is not fired on input element, when click on it and there is some current active element element on the page (in my case it is input element) which is removed from DOM on this click action (on mousedown event).
So focus event is not fired, input html is not initialized completely and properly, but user can type any text in it… It is very unpleasant and unexpected behavior. In other browsers (Chrome, Firefox) this case works correctly, focus event is fired.

Issue is also reproduced in Internet Explorer 11.
Browser version where issue is stably reproduced:
Microsoft Edge 40.15063.674.0
Microsoft EdgeHTML 15.15063

    • Hi Yury,

Appreciate the excellent repro.  Simplified to basic issue.  I was able to repro this in the current public Fall Creators Update and in a recent insider build.

      Thank you for the submission,
