Steps to reproduce

After the fall update installation Edge is pretty much unusable, with GPU/CPU usage spiking to 50-60% (Intel GPU/CPU, 7700HQ).
The issue is only present when hovering over/interacting with UI elements of Edge, not the websites.
Material design a bit too material? No similar issues in other modern apps

    • Hi,

I am not seeing the same behavior.  Can you provide additional information for me such as your graphics card and current driver version?  I am aware of issues with upgrading to 1709 related to driver versions, however, these were not specifically about the CPU load on using any of the UI elements.

Also, will you provide a dxdiag log?

To run a DxDiag report follow the steps below:

      1.
           Click on, "Start Button".
      1.
           Click on, "Run".
      1.
In the pop-up window enter DxDiag and hit ok.
      1.
The DirectX Diagnostic Tool pop-up window should appear.
      1.
           Click on, "Save all information".
      1.
Save As" window should be present.
      1.
Click on, “Save” (The file should be saved to your
        desktop as DxDiag.txt)
      1.
           Exit the DirectX Diagnostic Tool.

      Then upload and attach the
saved output file to this post.

      Thank you for the help,

      Steve

    • Hi Steve,
Apologies, the issue report must have been premature - issues no longer reproducible after a reboot, 1709 just needed a bit more time
