Steps to reproduce

Not What It Is Or When It Started

I have researched up and down,
but could not seem to find a resolution to this issue.
So I'm finding myself forced to migrate back to chrome to submit such a request for help.

  • Hi,

I have seen this issue before and I believe the issue was with the graphics driver.  I know, other browsers are working.  Let me double check on what the other issue was, if it was root caused.

In the mean time, can you check if you are running the latest graphics drivers for your card and provide a dxdiag.exe report?

    Appreciate the support,

  • Also, as an fyi, I have only had one or two other users report this same or similar issue, I.e. it is not a known or open issue with Edge.

  • I wish I had gotten a reply sooner. I have recently updated from 1703 to 1709 and poof, it was fixed, so therefore I can not provide you with that data. I am curious as to when the other complaints might have come in, might be able to narrow it down to a driver. I can not confirm what driver I had while the problem existed, but I will say I currently have driver version 388.13 for a GeForce GTX 980 Ti. If a total of only 3 people have reported this issue, I understand why its unknown. I thank you for your interest and reply. I currently have no interest in downgrading back to 1703, however I did create a SYSIMG before upgrading so it may still be possible to reproduce. If for whatever reason such an instance does occur again shall I reference a better description?

  • Thank you for response.  I apologize that I just noticed it.  I didn’t have the “follow” setting for this ticket for some unknown reason.

I failed to also mention that the driver issues that I mentioned were also corrected after a day or so for other users.

At this point I do not think we need to investigate it as it appears to have been handled by the graphics teams, I.e. inside Microsoft and external to Microsoft.

Appreciate the submission and being willing to help debug this issue,

    The MS Edge Team
