Steps to reproduce

Just got Creators release 10/26/17 via slow ring. Only in EDGE browser. go to a page and touch the scroll wheel. Horizontal scrolling forward backward pages occurs. If you click anywhere on the page first, scroll wheel move vertically as it should. Does not do this with IE or Chrome. Did not do it before the Creators release. Mouse is a Logitech Wireless M705.
repeats every time I change page (eg click on a google link, but not when I click on a favorite on link bar.

    • Hello,

Thank you for providing this information about the issue. We are presently tracking this issue as a duplicate of an existing internal bug report. We look forward to additional feedback you may have on how we can improve Microsoft Edge.

    • Happens every time after pressing the back button on Edge, If you don’t click on page somewhere the mouse wheel will act as a forward and back button instead of scrolling up and down. Logitech G602 mouse

    • I have the same issue. My mouse is a Logitech M185. Please fix this issue.

    • Ditto that issue here. Very frustrating to say the least.

    • Changed Status from “Not reproducible”

    • Marking this issue as non reproducible is hiding your head in the sand. My solution is to stop using EDGE (I tried it at first, avoided it for over a year, tried it again and it was better so I made it my default browser), but with this issue, it is again no longer my default browser. Besides there are too many operational shortcomings for it to even hold a candle to IE.

    • Hello,

Thank you for continuing to provide feedback. We previously confirmed the problem, and have recently published a solution on a upcoming build of Edge. We are resolving this issue as a duplicate of an existing internal bug report. We look forward to additional feedback you may have on how we can improve Microsoft Edge.

    • Fixed!
Go to Windows Settings -->Devices–> Mouse
If the setting–> [Scroll inactive windows when I hover over them] is set to Off this will happen in Edge. Turn it on scrolling works normally.

    • NOT Fixed. Windows Settings -->Devices–> Mouse ->Scroll inactive windows makes no difference. Also the window scrolling to the bottom bug that has existed since windows 7 and that will continue to exist until Windows 999 that is widely known and documented throughout Microsoft is not affected by this setting as some have reported.

    • Just started happening for me. I think this is the result of some update. Only happens on Edge browser. Fred D. suggestion fixed this for me.

    • My mouse is an HP and doing the same as above. My Scroll Inactive Windows is OFF.

    • My computer is an HP ZBook Studio G3.

My mouse is an HP G3K and is wireless.

MS Edge has the same defect as described above.

The defect has been there since obtaining my computer over 18 months ago.

I require a professional answer and a professional fix please.

Scroll inactive is turned to ‘off’ in my copy of Windows. The problem remains. It is annoying, it is time consuming, it is distracting.

Microsoft behavior toward a resolution is what I would expect from Apple Computers.

    • Same problem, stopped using Edge until the fix,

    • I have Windows 10 with the April 2018 Update 1803 plus the 2018-06 update. My mouse is a Logitech M325 with Logitech SetPoint installed.

Set Windows Settings -->Devices–> Mouse ->Scroll inactive windows to ON. After 5 minutes of playing in Edge using a web site that previously had the horizontal scrolling problem, the problem seems to be gone.
