Steps to reproduce

Not sure what is going on. It worked one day and not the next. Was there an issue with a recent upgrade? I cannot get to any site using Edge or Cortana.

Is there a fix for this isssue?

  • Hi Greg,

This sounds like a known issue with third party software, usually an anti-virus application making changes that impact DNS resolution among other things.  Will you look at the following issue and let me know if you
    are having that issue?

    https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/platform/issues/13779603/

I recommend you run the following in an admin powershell to
verify this is the issue you are experiencing, I.e. run this before reviewing
the above link, all in one line/command.

    Get-Acl
    HKLM:\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters | Format-List

You are having the issue that the script in the bug report
linked above will correct if you DO NOT have the following entries in the
    output of the Get-Act command.

    APPLICATION PACKAGE AUTHORITY\ALL APPLICATION PACKAGES
    Allow  ReadKey

    APPLICATION PACKAGE AUTHORITY\Your Internet connection
    Allow  ReadKey

    APPLICATION PACKAGE AUTHORITY\Your Internet connection,
including incoming connections from the Internet

If the you are having this issue, the fix is posted in the
bug report that I mentioned above.
Follow the steps and it should fix the issue.

If the above is not your issue, let me know and we can debug
    further.

    Steve
