Steps to reproduce

Linked Firefox Issue:

To create an SVG containing multiple elements and to re-use this SVG via the <use> element. I would then like to style each element differently e.g. different stroke/fill colours.

Edge (and other browsers) allow me to do this, which is exactly what I would like, but after logging a bug with firefox I was informed the bug is actually with the other browsers.

My preference would be to have Firefox/Safari behave how Edge does, but unfortunately, instead I am filing this bug 😭

Please could you confirm this behaviour is a bug?
If not, are you able to help me persuade Firefox/Safari that the bug is with them?

    • Hello,

This is not a bug in Edge. Firefox is using an different version of SVG which behaves this way. This might be an oversight in SVG 2 and you should contact the SVG authors (to see if they will review this problem) as recommended by the Firefox team.
