Steps to reproduce
The protocol is hidden during website browsing. When I want to copy the current url or edit a part of it I click on the place where I want to start copying from or editing and the whole string jumps right because the protocol is shown when the address bar has focus. Please do it the same way as other browsers do. This is a real no go and it’s really stupid behavior… no idea how your ui tests can accept this
UPDATED REPRO STEPS by MS Edge Team
This has been fixed as of 16299 for short URL’s which fit the width of the address bar, but is still a problem for very long URL’s; the protocol is visible but the address still shifts so that the cursor lands on the the wrong part of the address.
