Steps to reproduce

No one over there is focused on updating WebDriver for Edge for INSIDERS. It’s 2 versions out of date. It’s almost as if I am the only one using it.

    • Hi Todd,

Appreciate the feedback.  I will forward your comments.

Out of curiosity, is there a feature that you are aware of that is missing or the current version posted on the site does not work with the latest Insider’s build?  I will verify as well, however, the last time I tested the driver was working with the Insider releases.

    • I don’t need the updated for a feature, I need it because I am running the Fast Ring on my dev machine. So the microsoftwebdriver.exe needs to be the right build. Otherwise, it just crashes. It’s pretty easy to reproduce. I am using Chrome now instead. I don’t have time to wait for Edge to grow up. Thanks!

    • I am not able to repro this issue.  I downloaded the latest Microsoft WebDriver and ran it on the most recent developer build and on an insider release.  Can you tell me which insider release you are on?  Win + S and type ‘winver’ and hit enter.

Also, I did have to ‘unblock’ the download.

I would like to figure out what the incompatible version are but understand needing to get work done.  :)

    • The problem is still really easy to reproduce: Just try to start Edge via Webdriver on a current insiders release (17046) with the current insider’s MicrosoftWebDriver.exe (10.0.17025.1000) - Java Bindings:

      java.net.SocketException: Connection reset
      ...
          at org.openqa.selenium.remote.service.DriverCommandExecutor.execute(DriverCommandExecutor.java:92)
          at org.openqa.selenium.remote.RemoteWebDriver.execute(RemoteWebDriver.java:586)
          at org.openqa.selenium.remote.RemoteWebDriver.startSession(RemoteWebDriver.java:217)
          at org.openqa.selenium.remote.RemoteWebDriver.(RemoteWebDriver.java:140)
          at org.openqa.selenium.edge.EdgeDriver.(EdgeDriver.java:150)
          at org.openqa.selenium.edge.EdgeDriver.(EdgeDriver.java:118)

    • Yes, it is extremely easy to reproduce. All it takes is a try. I have moved on though. I cannot rely on this type of support.

      Changed Status to “Fixed”

    • We’re in the process of updating it to the latest build of insiders fast now (17063). It should be published later today.

    • Driver to correct Asus K52 Builtin Camera. needed to use camera based features.
