I am getting above error on line

webDriver = new EdgeDriver();

I came across some post on microsoft forum but it did not help me get around the issue.

Any workaround would be helpful

Windows 10 build : 16299.64

Thanks in advance!

  • Can you provide a simplified repro for this?  Also, have you tested manually launching the MicrosoftWebDriver.exe?  I am wondering if the executable is being launched.

    Once I get your example code, I will be able to debug this further.  I have verified that webdriver is working with selenium 3.7.1 and the Java bindings.

  • I am providing my Java code that works with selenium 3.7.1.  I am also providing my Maven pom.xml file that includes the 3.7.1 version for Java selenium bindings and testNg for using the annotations for @setup, @test, etc.

    I recommend adding the path to the where you stored MicrosoftWebDriver.exe.  To make things easy, I usually create a folder C:\bin\ and put is there.  Then just add C:\bin\ to your system environment variables.  If you do this, the code I provided with find the exe and run it.

    Link to MicrosoftWebDriver.exe, just in case.  :-)
