Steps to reproduce

I created a Codepen: or in code just assume you have this HTML snippet

  <input id="number" type="number" step=10>
  <button type="submit">YOLO</button>

This input now only allows numbers in 10er steps, so if you type in 9 and press the “YOLO”-Button an error is shown.

On English devices: “You must enter a valid value”
However, on German devices the error reads: “Geben Sie ein güeltiges Datum ein” which translates to “Enter a valid date”

It seems that only the validation TEXT is wrong, because when I enter a valid number, e.g. 10 no error is thrown, so it’s just the validator message.

    • Hi Theodoros,

      Apologize for the delay.  I tried to change my localization settings to German, however, I was never able to see the error messages in Edge in the German.  I.e. even though the OS settings, etc. were in German.   I realize I would need to actually install using a DE version of Windows 10.  Will you tell me if this is still an issue in a recent public and/or insider release?

    • Hi Steve,

      this problem still exists, I just checked with a co-worker that uses Microsoft in combination with Edge.
