Testing with Edge browser using selenium

Steps to reproduce

I would like to use edge browser with selenium for automation testing . I am getting the following error .

OS build version : 15063.296
Edge Version : 40.15063.0.0
Selenium Version :
MicrosoftWebDriver Version : 15063

Could you help on this ?

  • Hi Kathiresan,

    This is a common error and I had similar questions when I first used Web Driver.  The issue here is that the path should be the path where the MicrosoftWebDriver.exe is located.  There are a couple ways to make this work.  I prefer to create a ‘bin\webdrivers’ folder at the root of my “C:” drive and put all the Web Driver binaries in that folder, E.g. for Firefox, Chrome, etc.

    The corresponding change in Visual Studio would be the following.  I attached a screenshot of my working test code.  Also, note I split the setup and cleanup of the driver into separate methods so that I could reuse the driver instance object across multiple tests.

     webDriverPath = @"C:\bin\webdrivers";
