Steps to reproduce

In W10Edge, a checkbox is included while presenting “alert” box to the user.
That is If a page presents an “alert” box more than once or twice, then next time onwards a message is displayed back to the user in the same “alert” box.

A checkbox is given with “Don’t’ let this page create more messages” Or “Prevent this page from creating additional dialogs” as shown in the attachment.

If an annoyed user selects this checkbox, then browser will stop showing alerts by ignoring the code we write for presenting alerts wherever they are necessary.

Is there a way to disable that “checkbox along with message” ?

  • Hello,

Thank you for providing this information about the issue. The alert-box you mentioned is a security feature; it prevents malicious scripts from overloading your browser. It cannot be disabled.

I recommend you upgrade to a more recent Edge build, like 16299, and then adjust the scripts on your page to reduce the number of alerts required.

    Best Wishes,
    The MS Edge Team
