Steps to reproduce

  1. Run attached index.html.
  2. Click start button to start the media stream.
  3. Click Mute button to mute the stream.
  4. Video freezes instead of showing black screen.

The result for the consumer is the same in the sense that whenever
MediaStreamTrack is muted or disabled (or both) the consumer gets
zero-information-content, which means silence for audio and black
frames for video.

Following code snippet is used for muting the audio/video.

window.stream.getTracks().forEach((t) => {
    console.log('Mute track: ', t);
    t.enabled=false;
});

    I am already testing it on latest edge 41.16299.15.0.

    I have created a screenshare to make it more clear. You can see in the screencast that clicking on mute button freezes the video instead of turning it to black as per the specs.

    Thank you for providing additional information about the issue. We are able to reproduce the problem but find your sample exhibits the same behavior in other browsers.

    This does not seem to be an Edge related issue. Please update this case if you can provide new information for us to consider.
