Comments and activity

  • Attempting to run the browser from the command line yields a UI error message at least as opposed to silent crashes from the Start Menu: “The app didn’t start”

  • Hello,

This problem is fixed in RS4 and is available in our latest Insider Preview build 17083. This build is still considered experimental (not yet public stable until late spring of 2018), so you should be sure to have recovery options for Windows and your personal data before trying it. You can join the Insider Program by going to Start Menu > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Insider Program > Get Started button.

    Best Wishes,
    The MS Edge Team

Edge doesn’t crash immediately. Totally unresponsive for a couple of seconds.

  • Windows 10 Home v 1803 downloaded 21st April 2018 - MS Edge crashes almost immediately it is opened

  • MicrosoftEdge.exe

  • last update fixed on desktop windows 10 pro but edge still does not work on laptop windows 10 home

  • 24/04/18 latest update affected edge, has stopped working. Shuts it’s self off after 5 seconds. HELP!!

  • It seems this is a common problem, which I too am suffering from. MS Edge runs up for about 10-15 seconds before bombing out. I have tried resetting Edge from the control panel and also used “Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers -Name Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml” -Verbose}” in Powershell (Admin) but to no avail. Running version 1709 on a HP i5 laptop. Am happy to supply any system information that will assist in resolving this problem…just want it fixed!!!
