Steps to reproduce

In an element with a contenteditable="true" attribute/value when a partial amount of text from a child element (such as a paragraph) is selected and then dragged the event.target does NOT match with Gecko and WebKit browsers:

window.ondragend = function(event) {console.log(event.target.toString().substr(0,13));}

window.ondragstart = function(event) {console.log(event.target.toString().substr(0,13));}

UPDATED REPRO STEPS by MS EDGE TEAM

  1. Attached is a minimal HTML for testing. Open it and then open F12 console.
    2. Select a partial amount of text and then drag it.
    3. Console log is expected to show [object Text], but actually shows [object HTMLParagraphElement].
