Steps to reproduce

See the following fiddle:

A click to the first (leftmost) image leads to a file download but a click to the second (rightmost) Image doesn’t. The “pointer-events: none” CSS property is set for both anchors and Images but Edge doesn’t respect it for the first anchor.

    • I found out that the reason is the “https” protocol. If I prefix the URL for the second Image with “https” instead of “http” in the fiddel, it behaves identically to the left Image.

    • Thanks for reporting this issue! It looks like Edge downloads in both cases (in the right image, however, we throw a mixed content warning in the address bar. If you click that and allow the download, our behavior is the same in both cases). I’ve moved this to our Pointer events team for further investigation. Thanks again!
