Steps to reproduce

When I import favorites to new Windows install just by copying folder with shortcuts - IE shows all shortcuts but without the Favicon (individual websites icons). I can understand that because IE before that don’t open those sites. But when I open those shortcuts… individual favicons at favorites bar still does not appear - the same problem at Edge when it import favorites from IE.

There is 2 ways to resolve this by user: 1) remake all favorites (OMG!); 2) open favorite website and then take and move his favicon as though you want to add it to favorites and rollover existing favorite shortcut - but then move back to the url-line - at most cases favicon appear at old shortcut!

By I ask developers to take a pity on users and resolve this problem to auto reload favicon for all new shortcuts!!!

    • Hello,

Thank you for providing this information about the issue. We have a solution for this in Edge. In the origin Edge browser, go to Settings and more… > Settings > Import from another browser > Export to file and then Save the HTML file. Copy the HTML file to the new computer. Open the destination Edge browser and go to Settings and more… > Settings > Import from another browser > Import from file and then open the HTML file. All shortcuts and their respective favicons will be restored perfectly.

      Best Wishes,

      The MS Edge Team
